YouTube support added!

Postby KG » Mon Feb 26, 2007 12:13 am

I've added support for YouTube videos in topic posts. There's a new 'YouTube' button on the code bar (where the bold and italic buttons are). Simply paste the YouTube URL into your post, select it, then press the button.

You should end up with something like this:

Code: Select all

This will result in the YouTube player being embedded in your post after it is previewed or submitted:

Please let me know if you want other video sharing sites added (like Google Video for example), as this may be possible in the future.

The rules have been updated: do not post media from pay-per-click hosts, such as FileSonic and HotFile.

KG,

For what it's worth, I try to embed Google Video on my sites when I can. While with their recent acquisition of YouTube, that may change - but I still find - at the moment - that there is far less of a chance of the clip being 'No longer available'.

YouTube has a bizarre 'censorship' policy - I've seen clips removed with no rhyme or reason behind it.

All the best,
Teri

Thanks for the tip, Teri. I'll add Google Video support as soon as I can.

If you embed a YouTube-Video you must regard to erase the country-specification.
For example:
wrong: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=iFagp_XhWDo
right: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFagp_XhWDo
