editing VOB files

Postby DNBJerk » Tue Jun 28, 2011 1:54 am

Here is my question. I have a few VOB files I'd like to edit. How can I go about making them into a file format that Adobe Premiere will accept?

First of all, which version of Premiere are you using? Cause since the release of Premiere Pro CS5, it handles VOB-files without question. No re-encoding necessary. Just drop them in there like anything else.

Pretty sure I still have CS4 (my desktop is down right now, waiting on a new hard drive to arrive in the mail).

Any tips on how to clean up old VHS footage in Premiere (filters)?

VHS is such a wreck that you'd be lucky to make it better by farting around with it.

It suffers from chroma shift; both vertical and horizontal, and usually has large amounts of red-purple blotching in low light. You are better off turning down the colour, to make it almost monochrome.
